RNW Media is an international media development organisation dedicated to harnessing the power of digital media to uphold human rights and advance the public good. They are looking for a chairperson for their Remuneration Committee. As the Chair of the Remuneration Committee, you will be tasked primarily to develop clear procedures for the recruitment and selection of the CEO and other members of the supervisory board and making the remuneration and compensation policy for RNW Media independent and transparent.

Key responsibilities

  • Governance and Strategic Oversight: The board will oversee the development and
    execution of the vision, mission and strategy. The board will also supervise the top management structure, as well as compliance, financial and risk management.
  • CEO Oversight and Support: The board is the formal employer of the CEO and includes responsibility for recruitment, evaluation, and, if necessary, dismissal. The board has a coaching, sparring and advisory role.
  • Stakeholder Stewardship: Ensure appropriate engagement with key stakeholders, partners and donors.
  • Board Contribution and Commitment: The board will also prepare and actively contribute to the full board meetings and committee meetings, bringing insights and independent judgment to discussions as well as committing sufficient time to effectively fulfil board and committee roles.

Requirements

  • Prior supervisory board experience
  • Experience with HR management and organisational change
  • Pre: Experience working with (international) NGOs, digital media
  • Pre: Knowledge and experience in international (development) settings.
  • Affinity with mission and values of RNW Media and the ability to challenge in a constructive manner;
  • Socially involved and with a relevant network in Dutch society (with a preference for relevant knowledge and experience with NGO’s);​
  • Interest in RNW Media’s work, socially engaged, and committed to social change.
